Complexity becoming clarity

Change is already happening. The real question is how to move through it without losing what matters.

Growth is outpacing the organization

Roles, structures, leadership practices and culture have not evolved at the same pace as the business.

A transition is disrupting performance

A reorganization, merger, leadership change or new strategy is creating uncertainty, resistance or inconsistent decisions.

Values are not shaping behaviour

Purpose and values are visible on paper but not yet embedded in decisions, accountability and everyday ways of working.

Leadership capability needs to grow

Managers have been promoted without enough support, difficult conversations are being avoided or delegation is not happening.

Teams are losing alignment

Silos, low trust, communication gaps or invisible work are affecting collaboration, engagement and wellbeing.

A person is at a turning point

A career, leadership, relocation or life transition requires clarity, confidence and an intentional next step.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about how The Pivot Move works with organizations and individuals in transition.

What is the difference between coaching and consulting?

Consulting is appropriate when an organization needs specialist expertise, practical tools and support in designing or implementing change.

Coaching helps individuals and teams increase awareness, clarify goals, make decisions and turn reflection into action. A coach does not provide advice or solutions, but creates a thinking partnership that enables clients to find their own answers.

In many projects, The Pivot Move combines consulting and coaching while keeping the two roles clearly distinct.

How do I know which type of support is right for me or my organization?

You don't need to know that in advance.

Every collaboration starts with a complimentary 30-minute conversation. It is an opportunity to understand your context, clarify your goals and explore together the most appropriate approach.

If, during that conversation, it becomes clear that The Pivot Move is not the right partner for your needs, I will tell you openly and transparently.

Do you work online or in person?

Most engagements are delivered online, allowing us to work with individuals and organizations across different countries.

Depending on the project, we can also discuss in-person sessions in Italy or internationally.

In which countries have you gained direct professional experience?

The Pivot Move builds on the international experience of its founder, Serena Barberis, who worked for more than fifteen years across Europe, Africa and Asia, leading multicultural teams, supporting organizations through change and operating in highly complex environments.

Direct professional experience includes:

Asia: Bangladesh, People's Republic of China, Philippines

Africa: Côte d'Ivoire, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Guinea, Kenya, Libya, Morocco, Nigeria, Sudan, Tanzania

Europe: Greece, Italy, Switzerland

This international perspective enables us to understand how leadership, organizational culture, change and collaboration take different forms across cultures, allowing every engagement to be adapted to the people, the organization and the local context.

Can you also work with multinational organizations operating across several countries?

Yes.

The Pivot Move builds on extensive experience gained within international organizations operating across multiple countries.

This background provides a deep understanding of global organizations, multicultural teams and the leadership, change and collaboration challenges that arise across different cultural contexts.

Projects can be delivered entirely online or include in-person activities, depending on the organization's needs.

Which languages do you work in?

Services can be delivered in Italian, English, French and Spanish, depending on the client's needs and the international context in which they operate.

Are coaching conversations confidential?

Yes.

Confidentiality is one of the fundamental principles of professional coaching.

Coaching conversations remain confidential and are conducted in accordance with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) Code of Ethics, except where disclosure is required by law or expressly agreed with the client.

When coaching involves multiple participants from the same organization, the sponsoring organization may receive high-level progress updates. These are always provided in an aggregated and anonymous form, without information that could identify any individual or disclose the content of coaching conversations.

Do you also work with organizations experiencing growth or transformation?

Yes.

The Pivot Move supports organizations that are growing, undergoing organizational change, developing a new culture, strengthening leadership or managing transformation processes.

Each engagement is tailored to the organization's specific context, combining consulting, coaching and systems thinking whenever appropriate.

Do you also work with non-profit organizations, international organizations and third-sector entities?

Yes.

The founder's professional experience was built primarily within the international humanitarian sector, working for more than fifteen years with one of the world's leading humanitarian organizations, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and collaborating closely with local partners across diverse cultural, institutional and organizational contexts.

This background makes The Pivot Move a natural partner for non-profit organizations, third-sector entities and international organizations seeking to strengthen leadership, organizational culture, collaboration and their capacity to navigate change.

Where do we start?

Every collaboration starts with a complimentary 30-minute conversation.

It is a space to understand your context, explore your needs and determine together whether and how The Pivot Move can be the right partner.

A practical first conversation

Which transition requires your organization—or you—to move differently?

A complimentary 30-minute conversation allows us to understand the context, clarify what matters and assess whether The Pivot Move is the right partner.
