Almost two decades
International experience, including leadership roles.

The Pivot Move was created to bring this perspective into organizational consulting and coaching: rigour in reading the system, respect for context and attention to what can make change sustainable over time.
We believe change can be ambitious without losing humanity, responsible without losing momentum and sustainable because it is built with people—not simply imposed on them.
Serena’s approach is shaped by years of leadership from inside complex, multicultural and highly interdependent organizations.
Throughout her career with the International Committee of the Red Cross, she led teams and support functions in demanding environments where decisions had to balance operational priorities, people, risk, resources and accountability—often under significant pressure and across multiple stakeholders.
Working across countries, functions and cultural contexts gave her first-hand experience of matrix organizations, formal authority and informal influence, competing expectations, and the challenge of translating organizational priorities into practice.
She also led through organizational pressure, restructuring and workforce reduction. Difficult decisions could not always be avoided; duty of care remained central to how those decisions were communicated and implemented, and to how people’s dignity, wellbeing and transition were supported. This is the perspective she brings to The Pivot Move: deeply human and firmly practical.
